I am wife to a magnificent man and mother to five wonderful children. Three of my children were born in the Northwest and two were born thousands of miles away in Liberia, West Africa. Birthplace is no matter, all of my children were born in my heart. This is our journey.

Campout 2010

Steve and I decided to host a campout for all of the kid cousins (all 19 of them) on his side of the family this last weekend. We chose his mom's back field as the location making it convenient if anyone needed to run home for something or if a child needed to be taken home in the middle of the night. In hindsight we took on more than we should have but we learned a lot and a good time was had by all.

As kids arrived, set up tents and settled we started off the evening with tie dye. Each of them were given a shirt and some designs to choose from. They then chose their colors. It was so fun to see them all together drying on the clothesline Saturday evening.

Each shirt was as unique as the person wearing it.

There were campfires both mornings and evenings with lots of old stories being told by uncles and aunts. A lot of memories were made and new stories will be told for years to come. We also had a water balloon fight that I will post pictures of later.

This guy was the driving force for all of the plans. He came up with the ideas and made some fantastic breakfast food. Some of the kids have asked us to do it again next year and we are considering that. I think we need to nap first. For a week.

For now, we are having fun looking at the pictures of the smiling faces enjoying their extended family. That's what it all about anyway.

What a beautiful sunset picture. Ellie's face is pretty concerning too. Sounds like you all had a ton of fun.
